This Friday’s Adventures hike(Oct 30) was in the Sonoran Desert Trails system. Starting from a parking area off Bush Highway and near the Salt River we followed the Riverview trail which joins with the Twisted Sister trail and looped back on the Saguaro trail for approximately 5 miles total distance and 500 foot elevation gain.

This is a relatively flat area with great views of the Red Mountain, Salt River and Bulldog Canyon. There is an abandoned mine along the way. Many attempts to find gold were made in this region with lots of hard labor and nothing in return.(Photos by Bert Roy)
