Grand Canyon Raft 2015

After rafting in 2012, from which I took great impressions, I decided to repeat the experience in the Grand Canyon. This time Dylan and Dale kept me company on a new rafting trip.

We started our grand adventure driving from Phoenix to Flagstaff and than a shuttle to the south rim of The Grand Canyon. We have some time to explore the area, have dinner and watch the sunset before an early bedtime. A early morning wake up and we were on our way down the Bright Angel Trial. A well maintained and popular trail which drops almost 5000 feet in just under 8 miles to Pipe Creek beach on The Colorado River. The colors are continually changing as the sun rises and we move down though the layers. We are entering the cork screw area where the trial winds around the steep canyon walls. Dylan set out to be the first to the river, and he was.

After a few adjustments reloading our gear in the dry bags, meeting the crew and remaining passengers. We were soon on our way, 135 miles of rafting.

Each new day brought new excitement, fun and friendships and after nine days we arrived at the Diamond Creek destination, where we unpacked, boarded the bus and headed for Flagstaff. The video and photos are a summary of the whole adventure.
