Bulldog Canyon

The Goldfields is an area between the Salt River/Saguaro Lake and the Apache Trail(SR 88) with much of it(Bulldog Canyon) open to Off Highway Vehicles with a permit. It’s also popular with equestrians. Some new trail signs in the area have made for easier access, and more usage.

The terrain is quite varied with gentle hills to the south, and mountainous with deep canyons as you approach the river. I do love exploring in the Goldfield really enjoy when I can find solitude. Just me and the jackrabbits.

Goldfields have lots of areas to explore. I usually try to avoid the many OHV roads but in late summer I can avoid the dried grass seeds piercing my socks and shoes. Also it’s easier to see rattle snakes if any are around. Lots of interesting formations to enjoy.
